Karlsruhe, June 11, 2026 – The International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) and the International Assessor Certification Scheme (iNTACS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 11, 2026, thereby establishing a strategic partnership to strengthen collaboration in professional qualification and certification.
The partnership combines the expertise of both organizations in the joint coordination of curricula, the intensive exchange of knowledge and experience, and the development of standardized terminology. This creates the conditions necessary to continuously enhance the quality and international compatibility of their qualification and certification programs.
iNTACS specializes in the assessment of development processes and provides guidance on how these processes can be utilized. IREB’s curricula impart in-depth knowledge on how requirements can be collected and processed confidently and purposefully, whether in traditional or agile environments or as digital solutions.
Both organizations are thus partners for professional development in their respective fields and, through this cooperation, complement each other’s portfolios for the benefit of users.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Dr. Kim Lauenroth (IREB) highlights the cross-industry benefits: “We are an independent, internationally active nonprofit organization with the goal of promoting and advancing requirements engineering and digital design worldwide. Through us, professionals and organizations receive internationally recognized and well-founded continuing education that is essential for the quality of software and systems development projects. iNTACS has been supporting process assessments and improvements for over 20 years. Requirements engineering is an integral part of all development models. The collaboration we have now launched is the logical next step toward better aligning and integrating existing offerings to serve our customers’ needs.”
Dr. Müller (iNTACS) highlights the benefits of this collaboration for both industry and end customers: “Our goal is to support our industry partners in mastering their development processes so they can ultimately develop products of the highest quality. In doing so, we aim to keep pace with technological advancements and integrate future technologies (e.g., AI). End customers want products that function reliably. We see strong potential in this collaboration for adding value and increasing efficiency. The collaboration between IREB and iNTACS is the best way to achieve these goals.”
Through their partnership, IREB and iNTACS are making an important contribution to strengthening the development community. By continuously advancing internationally recognized qualification and certification standards, both organizations promote professional excellence and support the training of the next generation of highly qualified specialists.
