From November 19 to 21, 2025, the 8th edition of the VDA SYS® Conference China took place in Shanghai—organized by VDA QMC China at the Primus Hotel Shanghai Hongqiao in Qingpu. The conference addressed key challenges facing the modern automotive industry, particularly quality, safety, and security of software-based vehicle systems. In addition to traditional quality and safety aspects, the focus was primarily on current topics such as automotive software, software quality, functional safety, cybersecurity, and compliance with new regulatory frameworks. The three days of the conference were structured around workshops and plenary sessions. The VDA SYS® Conference China 2025 underscores how much the automotive industry worldwide—and especially in China—is increasingly moving toward software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and integrated system solutions. The requirements for quality, safety, and compliance are increasing—and the conference provided an important platform for sharing knowledge, standards, and best practices in this transformation. The current edition in Shanghai also shows that the exchange is not limited to Europe—rather, thinking, development, and standardization are global. The conference thus makes a positive contribution to the harmonization of quality and safety standards in the globally networked automotive industry. iNTACS has supported the conference with a keynote presented by Bernhard Sechser, leader of the working groups Internationalization and Medical SPICE  and by its Regional Representatives.
