Working Group Software Automation SPICE

Details
Written by: UserSupport Admin
Category: Working Group List
Published: April 24, 2023
Hits: 0 4116

PURPOSE

Creation of a process model for Software Automation that is aligned with ISO/IEC 15504:2012.

MOTIVATION

In SW development and for all supporting processes SW Automation plays an increasing role.

Examples for SW Automation are: Test Automation (unit, integration, system test), Continuous Deployment and Continuous Integration, configuration management etc. So far, no standard exists to assess, how much is automated and how mature the SW Automation is. With the SW Automation Reference Model, it is intended to close this gap.

DELIVERABLES

  • Pilot the draft model - we are actively looking for organizations interested in piloting
  • Create a SW Automation SPICE PAM
  • Creation of standard training material and exams

Working Group SPICE for IT-Services

Details
Written by: Peter Bölter
Category: Working Group List
Published: April 20, 2022
Hits: 0 5341

PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

This intacs working group is developing further the existing ISO-20000-PAM into an up-to-date Process Assessment Model „SPICE for IT-Services“ which will serve two purposes:

1. Managing IT Suppliers

Experience with the existing PAM has shown that it is very beneficial for large organizations that purchase IT services to evaluate their IT suppliers on their ability to support their customer's business. If the issues and weaknesses identified in the assessments are resolved, performance can be improved, and resilience enhanced.

2. „SPICE for Automotive IT-Services“

In a second development stage, the PAM will be extended to future automotive IT service management. The background is that automotive system development will evolve from a predominantly vehicle scope to a highly distributed scope in the next few years:

Onboard units in a vehicle will network (keyword "car-to-x communication") with e.g. other vehicles, roadside devices, cloud services (e.g. POI management, navigation, automated valet parking, trunk shopping delivery, ...).

Just as today the quality capability of vehicle suppliers is assessed with Automotive SPICE, in the future the quality capability of IT suppliers will be assessed with "SPICE for Automotive IT Services".

Working Group Agile SPICE

Details
Written by: Peter Bölter
Category: Working Group List
Published: March 08, 2022
Hits: 0 7202

PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

Creation of a process model “Agile SPICE” to reflect agile concepts, methods and practices, but only with either changed or added processes and process groups

MOTIVATION

  • Growing complexity and faster changes during development drive increased use of agile approaches.
  • OEMs ensure the overall quality and safety/security of those products, leading to increased pressure to show Automotive SPICE® capabilities.
  • Automotive SPICE® as is can be applied and interpreted for any kind of development.
  • However, both agile organizations and those in an agile transition struggle in implementing and interpreting Automotive SPICE®.
  • There is a need to reduce misunderstandings and help to interpret the terminology for both sides.
  • This bridge shall …
    • reduce the variation in interpretation of Automotive SPICE® assessors,
    • increase the acceptance of Automotive SPICE® in the agile community.

DELIVERABLES

  • Development of an Agile SPICE PAM (applicable with Automotive SPICE® 3.1) including usage guidance and mapping to Automotive SPICE® practices
  • Piloting the Agile SPICE PAM in assessments
  • Creation of standard training material and exams

Working Group Data Management SPICE

 In: Working Group Information

PURPOSE

Creation of a process model for data management that is aligned with Automotive SPICE® 3.1 and other established standards in the industry.

MOTIVATION

Many of the current innovations in the automotive environment revolve around autonomous driving, digitization, connectivity, AI/machine learning, and new services in the context of mobility.

All of these innovations are based on the collection and use of data. However, the handling of data often plays a subordinate, barely visible role in today's development and operations processes, with corresponding risks.

The working group is creating a good practice framework that specifically addresses these risks; hence the working title "Data Management SPICE".

DELIVERABLES

  • Pilot the draft model - we are actively looking for organizations interested in piloting.
  • Create a Data Management SPICE PAM (aligned with Automotive SPICE® 3.1)
  • Creation of standard training material and exams

Working Group Hardware SPICE

Details
Written by: Pierre Metz
Category: Working Group List
Published: June 13, 2018
Hits: 0 11137

PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

Further development of a process reference and assessment model for hardware development, which is

  • Compliant with ISO/330xx and ISO/IEC 15504-2
  • Aligned with Automotive SPICE® 4.0
  • Aligned with the VDA Automotive SPICE Guidelines
  • Aligned with ISO 26262-1:2018 2Ed and ISO 26262-5:2018 2Ed

Change requests for Automotive SPICE®, e.g.

  • SYS.3 does not mention “Producability”
  • SYS processes do not address a production interface
  • Thermal / environmental and EMC testing - Note for SYS.4/SYS.5  (testing)

MOTIVATION

In the automotive industry, a significant number of products are mechatronic, i.e., they comprise mechanical, electrical, electronic, electromechanical elements, and software.

There is currently no Process Assessment Model that provides indicators for all these product levels and aspects. Since Automotive SPICE® v3.0, there is a "Extension" concept that allows hardware and mechanical lifecycle processes to be placed below the SYS.x, and beneath the SWE.x processes. Still, the VDA Working Group (AK) 13, at present, does not have the mandate to develop extensions for the "MEE" and "HWE" processes.

As there is a growing need for companies to either assess hardware in isolation or to assess mechatronic development processes, the goal of this working group is to propose such criteria.

START AND DEADLINES

February 2018, projected further development ongoing

CONSTRAINTS

This working group operates strictly according to the iNTACS Guidelines for Competition Law Guidelines.

DELIVERABLES

Upgraded ISO/IEC 330xx compliant Process Reference and Process Assessment Model
