Bib of Winifred Menezes:

Ms. Winifred Menezes started her professional life as a software developer and worked her way up to designer, systems analyst, project manager and process/methodology expert.  This background served her well when she worked with the Software CMM doing so called gap analysis and assessments using an organization proprietary method. She found that she had more credibility among software developers and their managers.

She started and led a country wide software process improvement initiative in a large industrial organization in Sweden. After a break working as a director at Research in Motion (makers of the BlackBerry) she returned to process improvement. Ms. Menezes is now a certified high maturity lead appraiser as well as a certified instructor and lead appraiser for all 3 CMMI constellations.

Since 2006, she has led over 10 SCAMPI As and Bs, some of which have used the continuous representation of the model, and participated as a team member in several others. These assessments have been conducted in various industrial sectors: telecommunications, finance, IT, defence, government, automotive and electrical engineering, among others, in Europe, Asia and the North America, so Winifred is used to working with different cultures.
Her growing experiences with Automotive SPICE and and participation in the Enterprise SPICE initiative led her to becoming an intacs Competent Assessor and was welcomed as the Canadian intacs Regional Representative by the intacs advisory and executive boards.

      Manifesto of Software Process Improvement

In September 2009 a group of experts in Software Pro-cess Improvement (SPI) from all over the world gathered in connection with the EuroSPI Conference for a workshop at Universidad de Alcalá in Spain.

EuroSPI's mission is to develop an experience and knowledge exchange platform for Europe where SPI practices can be discussed and exchanged and knowledge can be gathered and shared.

At the workshop 15 experts presented their ‘wisdom’ grounded in many years of process improvement experience. Based on the presentations, 30 workshop participants brainstormed core values and principles specifically for process improvement. Via affinity analysis and group thinking exercises we ended up with a manifesto for SPI.

At the end of the workshop 4 values and 14 principles were identified. Among the group of participants, authoring responsibilities were distributed on a voluntary basis backed by personal justification. Some values and principles were focused on by more then one volunteer.
