SPICE for Mechanical Engineering
The Process Assessment Model SPICE for Mechanical Engineering Version 1.5 is available for public review and usage.
The Version can be downloaded by any registered user. Any comments and hints are welcome. Please use the Ticket System.
Scope
The mechanical engineering processes define a process set for the development of pure mechanical systems (e.g. steering columns) and mechanical components (e.g. screws). These are linked to Automotive SPICE according to the Plug-In Concept defined in Automotive SPICE v3.1.
Interfaces to the following processes are covered:
The entire development of production processes is not covered.
Management and supporting processes as well as generic practices of Automotive SPICE shall be used as defined in the Automotive SPICE PAM v3.0 but have to be adapted to a mechanical context.
Acknowledgement
This process model was created by the intacs working group SPICE for Mechanical Development whose work was only made possible by the kind contribution of the following companies and particularly their employees involved.
The members of the working group would especially thank all the reviewers of the standard whose valuable input helped to increase the quality of the model for its initial release.
