The upgrade training for ISO/IEC 33061 has been available since mid-2024. The training takes two days without an exam. After attending, you can get certified for the ISO/IEC 33061 basic PAM from the ECQA. ISO/IEC 33061 certification is a prerequisite for obtaining registration of the following model extensions: Agile SPICE, Data Management SPICE, Mechanical Engineering SPICE, Modeling & Simulation SPICE, Organization SPICE, Software Automation SPICE, and Test SPICE. You need ISO/IEC 33061 certification to register these extensions.
In this context, we would like to remind you of the validity of assessment results, as described in the procedure “intacs_procedure_certification_criteria_EN_v10_6”: “When extensions are evaluated in an ‘official’ assessment, one of the members of the assessment team must be a certified assessor who has attended the extension training and passed the exam.” As an assessor, you are certified if you have a valid license.
As an Automotive SPICE® assessor, you still have the chance until December 31, 2025 to take part in the upgrade training ISO/IEC 33061 based on your ISO/IEC 15504 cross-certification, which will still be recognized until then, in order to apply for this certification afterwards. Because ISO/IEC 15504 has been withdrawn, we will no longer display this cross-certification for all Automotive SPICE® assessors on our website from January 1, 2026. The same applies to registrations without valid ISO/IEC 33061 certification. Please refer also to the “Procedure Certification Criteria” section 3.8. There will be a special discount for the second certification with the ECQA.
